So I figured I'd get the Powers Talk out of the way first. Ava mostly only has one power that really needs IC Permission / Plotting for, but it's weird enough I thought it was worth tossing on here. I would never pull this without plotting first, but having a list beforehand is always nice.

But BASICALLY Ava creates quantum links between herself and another person. The tldr version is that it's a bite-sized sharing of senses / perception.

The how of this is left pretty murky aside from something-something-quantum-entanglement, which is nice in that it's really easy to leave it as just player preference. In canon this happens with Natasha and it's always on, in RP I run it as being of shorter duration and a bit more flexible to lean a bit away from the yikes factor there. It usually lasts for an hour or two, with the potential to run longer if you want it to.

So what exactly does it do? Basically the Quantum Link has two modes, Passive and Active.

Passive allows for the.. passive transfer of such information, and can potentially be triggered by any skin-to-skin contact. In this case, no one has explicit control of what gets picked up, however feelings, sensations, and even skills are all possible, but not explicit thoughts. Sexy sensation sharing anyone? Maybe?

But, once aware it's happening, it's possible to make this a collaborative process and gain some control over it; one canon instance involves Ava sighting snipers through Natasha’s eyes. Natasha is also able to block Ava out at one point, so it definitely seems to be a "more it happens the more you can do with it" sort of thing. Basically I’m willing to get as weird with this as anyone is interested in, because it’s weird as fuck.

Active is where things get real weird and would be potentially exploitative... if it didn't require mutual consent in order to actually trigger it. In canon Ava and Nat have to sort of hold each others' hands and both let their metaphorical walls down, etc etc. I don't see this coming up much, but just for full disclosure I wanted to include it. It does have some interesting effects in that it is directed, but by the other person -- so if Ava and Thor were triggering an active Link, Thor would be in control of what he got while looking through Ava's memories/subconscious and Ava would be in control of what she saw from Thor. Which is... a lot of trust.

BUT the big thing here is that it's not just a potentially extremely thorough memory share, it even allows for access to things that someone doesn't remember, either through forgetting or having the memories wiped or things they never knew, etc. And there is a line suggesting that it might even be possible to see memories / feelings / etc from other versions bc Quantum Nonsense. Odds of her trusting someone this much are slim, but if the idea of a cosmic quantum mind meld across space and time sounds fun to you, we can probably plot something.

Usual tagging times/pace: UTC -5 / EST. I try to hit my tags daily, though depending on RL it can take me a few. Always down to hash things out if something's moving slow. Also up for boomeranging if we happen to be around at the same time; evenings are generally best for me, but I don't have a set schedule, just poke me on plurk or discord and I'll prioritize.

Backtagging: I used to say forever, but the truth is more like a month or two, although I'm willing to go longer if there is more current stuff happening as well and/or handwaving some smaller interactions. It's just that if our characters haven't seen each other in over two months, then clearly that thread didn't have much of an effect, no matter what happens in it.

Fourthwalling policy: My general answer is "no" unless you're Wade Wilson. That said, I'm totally open to things about her sounding familiar to characters that are MCU and/or Marvel Comics familiar.

Action vs. Prose: I'll write both, though I generally prefer Action. If you markedly prefer Prose just lmk.

Offensive Subjects & Triggers: None that I can think of; I'll bring it up if relevant. Her canon involves a fair bit of brainwashing/mind wipes/etc, pointed child torture, dehumanization, objectification, physical/psychic experimentation on little girls, mental manipulation and other Bad Times, so tell me if there's anything specific you want me to avoid.

Also for MCU/AoS characters, talk to me if there's anything specific you don't want her to bring up and we can work things out. Her canon makes some vague references to early days Agents of SHIELD and she knows Coulson, so I'm down to have her have met or not members of the team as people prefer.

She also seems to know of Spider-man?? But this seems to be a TASM, not Homecoming reference, considering the novel predates Civil War.

IC PERMISSIONS

Physical Violence: She's from a comicbook based canon; it kinda goes without saying. Say the wrong thing and she'll even swing first. Always down for people to spar with, too. Just note she does have powers, so let's talk it out a bit if there's going to be a Real Fight.

Mental Information: Her mind is a lot of a mess. If your character is going to look for more than surface thoughts, hit me up and we can figure out what they get. Do note that mental hijinks without consent will predominantly result in negative CR.

Physical Affection: OOCly I'm up for whatever, ICly it will depend a lot on situation and person, and she's not shy about saying "I don't want this". She is very affection starved, but dislikes giving up control so odds are good as long as you're not a dick about it.

IC Triggers: Ava doesn't have particular triggers in terms of conversation, though human experimentation and brainwashing and the like are likely to make her very uncomfortable. In that vein, however, I'm not interested in things of that nature happening to her without specific plotting, just because they can get real dicey, real fast.

Relationships: All is good! Smut and other bad decisions are great, though she comes with a warning for accidental electroplay and/or burns due to her powers and that sex very pointedly makes it hard for her to control them. But I'm also into friendship and supportive dynamics, so seriously give me just about anything and I'm here for it. Negative dynamics are admittedly harder to maintain as she tends to just not engage unless forced.

Also: I'm not against shipping, but she has a lot of trauma there. I'd really like for someone to force her to acknowledge how fucked up the whole Alexei thing was, tbh. Maybe even get her to admit that his death isn't on her hands? Someone needs to give her the Peggy Carter 'allow him the dignity of his choice' talk, tbh.

Are you interested in participating in smut? Yes!! How into it Ava is depends on the people / situations involved, but I'm here for it. Mostly here for enthusiastic consent the first few times, although I don't object to aphro effects and the like. She's 18, but has a lot of memories from Nat, potentially even AU versions of herself. She had sex in her canon when she was 17, and hasn't been sexually active in the year and a half since, so if anything she's actually pretty intensely sexually frustrated.

Fair warning that especially at first burning and / or electroplay are pretty likely. She'll probably apologize if she forgot to mention it?

If yes, please state your preferences: Open gender-wise, and I'm more interested in people she clicks with than anything else. In part because of trauma I think she skews a bit agender, but I don't think she's quite aware enough to be able to articulate that.

She has trouble giving up control, so she leans Toppy but will Switch depending on the person / situation. I totally think she's into strap-ons / pegging ..... actually she could even use her powers for penetrative appendages (tentacle-fucking, anyone?) once she gets used to sex enough to trust she can use her powers during without burning people in uncomfy places.
